Controller

ANINE BING is looking for a Controller to join our accounting team.

The Controller will drive and enhance our accounting operations, ensuring precise financial management to support ANINE BING’s continued growth.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in retail or apparel, embodying analytical expertise and a commitment to efficiency. The Controller will lead and foster a high performing team and will play a key role in driving financial results.

This role can be based in LA or remote and reports directly to the CFO.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing accounting team.
  • Oversee the annual audit process and ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards (GAAP) and regulations.
  • Manage the month-end close process, ensuring its efficiency and accuracy with a focus on a condensed timeline.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize accounting operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage accounting for multiple subsidiaries, channels, and locations, including international operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including budget vs. actual analysis and variance explanations.
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting.
  • Play a key role in the implementation and management of NetSuite.
  • Identify and implement accounting tools to streamline processes, including reconciliations and close procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience as a Controller.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and audit experience (Big 4 preferred).
  • Experience with multi-location, multi-channel, and international business environments.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite and experience condensing the month-end close process.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
